Corporate Credit Director

A globally recognized financial institution with a substantial corporate and structured finance book is looking to add a senior credit risk leader to its (2LOD) function.

The platform spans corporate lending, leveraged finance, and structured finance exposures across a diverse and growing client base.This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the center of credit decision making for a sophisticated portfolio, independently challenging, sizing, and approving risk on transactions that shape the bank's balance sheet, while working directly with senior stakeholders across the business and risk organization.

The Role

This person will independently assess, challenge, and approve credit risk on corporate and structured finance transactions, acting as the second line check on origination and underwriting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Independently review and approve credit risk on corporate lending and structured finance transactions, including leveraged and asset-backed structures
• Challenge First Line credit analysis, deal structuring, and risk ratings, ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite
• Partner with senior business and risk leadership on portfolio strategy, emerging risk themes, and large or complex transaction approvals
• Contribute to credit policy development and ongoing monitoring of the corporate and structured finance portfolio

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of corporate credit risk experience, with direct exposure to structured finance (leveraged finance, securitization, or project finance a plus)
• Prior 2LOD or independent credit approval experience at a bank or major financial institution
• Demonstrated ability to independently underwrite and defend credit decisions to senior stakeholders
• Strong understanding of credit risk frameworks, regulatory expectations, and portfolio risk management
