Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant
This is a full time position.
Assists the dentist in providing a wide variety of dental procedures.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains supplies and equipment including x-ray developers/processor and pour models.
- Works with the dentist to improve their skills to function as independently as legal regulations permit; and is scheduled to be chair-side with the dentist in the practice, therefore the position requires flexible work hours according to the needs of the department.
- Receives and prepares patients
- Charts dental records,
- Updates medical and dental histories and assists in maintaining dental records.
- Sterilizes dental instruments including hand pieces and disinfecting operatories according to established guidelines and after each patient.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required
Training certification as a Dental Assistant preferred
One year relevant experience preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with a dental electronic record (EDR) strongly preferred
Must hold current MA Licensure to practice as a Dental Assistant
Must have a current BLS certification
Certification in radiology is required
This position reports to the Director of Dental Services
