Electrical Test Technician

Job Title: Electrical Test Technician Job Description

As an Electrical Test Technician, you will support the electrical and mechanical engineering teams by fabricating, assembling, validating, and troubleshooting prototype electromechanical designs. The role involves building cable harnesses, repairing and modifying PCB assemblies, constructing test fixtures, and conducting system-level tests. You will document test results and communicate findings to the project team while ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble wire and cable harnesses to support engineering, service, and production.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components on PCBs.
  • Fabricate electromechanical test fixtures including support structures, cables, sensors, breakers, gauges, motors, belts, pulleys, and other components.
  • Conduct tests on prototypes and accurately process data entry using a computer.
  • Perform inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of material preparation equipment.
  • Execute system function tests as part of a design of experiments.
  • Troubleshoot using diagnostic test instruments such as multimeters and pressure gauges.
Essential Skills
  • Electrical technician or wiring experience.
  • Surface mount soldering experience with PCBs.
  • Proficiency in using electrical test equipment.
  • Computer skills, particularly in Excel for documenting tests.
  • High school education or equivalent with a minimum of six years of relevant experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with oscilloscopes.
  • Experience setting up testing equipment.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification preferred for complex wire harness fabrication.
  • IPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification preferred for PCB component soldering.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $77000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
