Critical Care Physician Requirements

Board certification is required

At least 1 year of critical care physician experience

Active Arizona physician license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)

Current ABLS, ACLS, and BLS certifications

Current, unrestricted medical license and appropriate credentials to provide adult critical care services

Demonstrated proficiency in required critical care procedures and clinical skills

Locum Tenens Critical Care Physician Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive overnight care to critically ill adult patients

Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, including ETT, tracheostomy, BiPAP, and CPAP

Perform and manage chest tube placement, bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage, and diagnostic or therapeutic procedures

Insert and manage central lines, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, and dialysis catheters

Evaluate and treat acute volume and blood pressure issues

Provide intracranial pressure evaluation and management

Perform lumbar punctures, paracenteses, and thoracenteses as clinically indicated

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, evidence-based patient outcomes
