Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Networks & Security Test Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and execution of automated and manual testing for networking and security products, with a focus on industrial and enterprise networking environments.

The role will be responsible for test planning, test case development, execution of functional and security testing, vulnerability analysis, defect verification, and development of test automation. The successful candidate will work closely with software development, product engineering, and product security teams to identify, analyze, reproduce, and resolve security and functional issues.

The position involves reviewing robustness, vulnerability, penetration testing, and protocol-fuzzing results; researching CVEs; supporting vulnerability remediation and verification; and contributing to product security response activities. The engineer will also design and build system-level test environments capable of exercising networking products under complex and demanding conditions.

This role is well suited for an engineer with strong experience across networking, cybersecurity, software testing, and industrial/OT environments , who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working collaboratively with globally distributed engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Participate in team planning, status meetings, and technical discussions to establish priorities, assignments, and deliverables.

Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for networking and security products.

Execute functional, robustness, vulnerability, penetration, and protocol-fuzzing tests using commercial, open-source, and proprietary security tools.

Apply white-box, grey-box, and black-box testing techniques to identify security vulnerabilities and product weaknesses.

Review and analyze security and robustness test reports, including results from protocol-fuzzing, penetration testing, and network robustness testing tools.

Execute protocol-fuzzing and robustness testing in complex Ethernet/networking environments.

Analyze test failures and security findings, reproduce issues, document evidence, and work with development teams to determine root cause.

Collaborate with product security/PSIRT teams to assess, track, and resolve reported vulnerabilities.

Research CVEs and security advisories and contribute to vulnerability assessment and response activities.

Design security testing scenarios and verify remediation of vulnerabilities across network operating systems, switches, routers, and related networking products.

Develop and maintain system-level test environments for complex Ethernet and industrial networking scenarios.

Contribute to the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and automated test suites.

Expand automated test coverage and improve the efficiency, reliability, and repeatability of testing processes.

Apply appropriate testing methodologies, tools, and techniques to achieve comprehensive functional and security coverage.

Analyze complex technical problems and maintain clear documentation of issues, findings, test results, and resolutions.

Collaborate with developers, architects, product engineers, security specialists, and subject matter experts throughout the product lifecycle.

Stay current with emerging networking technologies, cybersecurity practices, IT/OT convergence, and industrial networking standards.

Share technical knowledge through informal presentations, technical discussions, and documentation.

Continuously improve testing methodologies, automation practices, and security testing capabilities.

Record, analyze, and summarize test results and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering , or a related technical discipline.

3+ years of professional experience in networking, network security, cybersecurity testing, or a closely related field.

Strong understanding of computer networking concepts, architectures, and communication protocols.

Hands-on experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and testing network environments.

Strong technical background in complex networking solutions and implementation strategies.

Understanding of IT/OT convergence and networking requirements within industrial or control-system environments.

Experience testing Ethernet networks and designing network-based test environments.

Experience with networking technologies and protocols such as:

Other industrial Ethernet and redundancy technologies

Experience with security testing concepts, vulnerability assessment, protocol fuzzing, penetration testing, and security testing methodologies.

Hands-on experience with protocol-fuzzing and robustness testing tools such as Achilles, Defensics , or equivalent tools.

Strong understanding of PSIRT processes, vulnerability management, CVEs, and security remediation workflows .

Experience working with enterprise or industrial networking switches and routers, preferably Cisco Industrial Ethernet or equivalent platforms.

Experience developing or executing automated testing using automation frameworks.

Knowledge of industrial control systems and industrial networking environments.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with network management platforms, network diagnostics, monitoring tools, and network utilities.

Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly Python .

Experience developing automated network and security test frameworks.

Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and emerging AI applications in cybersecurity and security testing.

Experience working within software or product development organizations.

ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent testing knowledge.

Experience with industrial automation, control systems, or OT products.

Experience with network operating systems and CLI-based network configuration and troubleshooting.

Experience with vulnerability management, security advisories, and coordinated vulnerability remediation.

Knowledge of industrial Ethernet protocols and network redundancy technologies.
