Vice President Of Human ResourcesThe Vice President of Human Resources serves as the senior leader responsible for the strategic direction, organizational development, workforce planning, employee relations oversight, culture initiatives, leadership support, and operational effectiveness of the People & Culture function at Goodman Community Center.Goodman Community Center operates in a complex environment that includes mission-driven programming, youth workforce participation, community-centered operations, participant employment integration, and a multi-department organizational structure.Reporting directly to the President and providing leadership to the HR Business Partner and Human Resources Assistant positions, this role is critical to ensuring the organization maintains:Stable and effective workforce systemsStrong leadership accountabilityHealthy organizational cultureSustainable staffing structuresLegal and regulatory complianceEmployee development and retention strategiesConsistent employee relations practicesEffective organizational communication and change managementAlignment between workforce operations and mission outcomesThis role is critical to ensuring the organization maintains strong workforce systems, leadership accountability, organizational culture, employee development, workforce sustainability, and legal compliance while supporting mission-aligned operations and long-term organizational effectiveness.Essential ResponsibilitiesServe as a member of the executive leadership teamLead workforce planning and organizational staffing strategyProvide executive leadership consultation regarding organizational structure, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, employee relations, and organizational riskLead organizational performance management, accountability, and work performance measurement frameworksLead organizational culture, values, and mission alignment strategyLead organizational change management initiativesLead succession planning and high-potential employee development initiativesDevelop employee and leadership development strategiesConduct workforce risk assessments and organizational climate monitoringLead cross-functional operational planning and organizational alignment initiativesDevelop organizational structure recommendationsLead HR process design and continuous improvement initiatives across the employee lifecycleLead alignment between workforce practices, program leadership, and mission-based employment initiativesEnsure workforce strategies align with organizational mission and participant outcomesEmployee Relations & Leadership SupportProvide leadership coaching and strategic support to organizational leadersLead escalated employee relations matters and workplace investigationsServe as the primary organizational liaison for employment counsel and workforce-related legal mattersSupport leadership communication effectiveness during organizational change and workforce initiativesLead annual organizational performance appraisal and compensation review processesLead compensation strategy, pay equity review, benchmarking analysis, and compensation recommendationsOrganizational Operations & Compliance OversightOversee HR policy and SOP governanceReview workforce analytics, executive reporting, turnover analysis, and staffing trendsLead HR budget planning and workforce forecasting activitiesOversee HRIS vendor relationships and People & Culture vendor partnershipsEnsure organizational compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, leave administration requirements, and workforce-related compliance standardsQualificationsBachelor's degree requiredMaster's degree is preferredMinimum 7 years of progressive HR or organizational leadership experienceExperience with employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, and compliance oversightProfessional HR certification requiredBenefitsGoodman Community Center offers generous health and dental plans as well as vision, life insurance, short-term disability, a 403(b)-retirement plan, and a team member assistance program.Free onsite childcare for all employees upon hire, pending program availability (ages 3+)Free access to on-site Lussier Fitness CenterEmployee discount on room rentalGenerous PTOPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in a standard office environmentAbility to move throughout organizational facilities as neededBlack, Indigenous, people of color, women, trans, nonbinary, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
