Overview Retail Personal Banker I – Asheville, North Carolina. The role is part of the Retail Personal Banker family and supports the bank’s sales process. Candidates will participate in a 4‑8 week onboarding program with rotations in operations and sales & service before beginning full‑time work. General Function Engage customers using a consultative sales approach to proactively identify and meet financial needs. Maintain focus on acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships through in‑branch lead generation, tele‑consulting, and other activities. Responsibilities Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small‑business products and recommend appropriate solutions. Use marketing tools such as CAMP to proactively reach customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews. Cross‑sell to the existing customer base and participate in outside sales activities, including membership presentations and community events. Establish close working relationships with assigned business partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial & Investment). Refer customers when appropriate. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals and contribute to year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L. Provide guidance to customer service reps on the sales and referral process. Promote customer satisfaction through a friendly, professional demeanor. Answer customer questions and own customer issues. Maintain confidentiality of all business information. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and ethics. Adhere to policies and procedures when opening/servicing retail products. Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans through closing. Participate in opening/closing of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed. Stay current on procedures that mitigate fraud and risk. Qualifications College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the financial industry preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with sales activities aimed at acquiring new customers and cross‑selling. Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis. Professional appearance and verbal/written communication. Working knowledge of retail policies and procedures for sound judgment. Position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS at time of hire. Working Conditions Normal office environment with frequent computer use. Training may require travel within the affiliate and to external classroom locations.
