Dermatology Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - Medical DermatologyJacksonville| Hampstead | New Bern| North Carolina Full-TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a background in Medical Dermatology to join a growing patient-centered dermatology practice in North Carolina.This opportunity is ideal for a provider who values continuity of care, strong patient relationships, and delivering high-quality dermatologic services within a collaborative clinical environment. The role focuses exclusively on medical dermatology and offers the chance to work alongside experienced providers while serving a diverse patient population.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including full-body skin examinations and patient historiesDiagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, rashes, and other chronic skin conditionsIdentify and treat precancerous and cancerous lesions including actinic keratosis (AK), basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanomaPerform dermatologic procedures such as shave biopsies, punch biopsies, excisional biopsies, cryotherapy, lesion removal, wound care, and post-procedure managementDevelop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physiciansPrescribe medications and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines and licensureEducate patients on skin health, treatment plans, and preventive careMaintain accurate and timely EMR documentationAdhere to HIPAA, regulatory, and clinical standardsParticipate in continuing education and professional development activitiesQualificationsRequiredMaster's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant programCurrent North Carolina NP or PA licenseNational certification: AANP or ANCC for NPs, NCCPA for PAsMinimum 1 year of dermatology experience, preferably in medical dermatologyStrong clinical assessment and procedural skillsExcellent communication and patient education abilitiesAbility to work independently in a fast-paced clinical settingPreferredDermatology certification (DCNP or equivalent) or willingness to pursue certificationExperience with dermatologic procedures including biopsies and cryotherapyFamiliarity with dermatoscopy and EMR systemsPassion for patient-centered care and long-term patient relationshipsBenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysCME allowance and dedicated CME timeMalpractice insurance coverageRetirement plan optionsSupportive onboarding and dermatology-focused training resourcesWork EnvironmentCollaborative and supportive dermatology teamModern clinical setting with advanced dermatologic tools and equipmentOpportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and community skin healthLong-term growth potential within an established practice
