Product Strategist - New and Emerging Products (MedInsight)

Position Summary:

Milliman MedInsight is seeking a Product Strategist to support the development and commercialization of emerging healthcare data, workflow, and AI-enabled decision-support products, with a strong focus on 0-to-1 opportunities and emerging product lines. This role serves as a collaborative bridge between data products, technology partners, and downstream product lines, working across payer, provider, clinical, GMs, and technical product management teams to incubate differentiated products. The Product Strategist will translate market needs and business priorities into actionable product strategies, leveraging internal capabilities, external data assets, and technology partnerships to advance innovative concepts into scalable, market-ready solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Product Incubation & Commercialization: Develop business cases, product definitions, and product concept memos for assigned opportunities, articulating the market opportunity, target buyer, value proposition, competitive differentiation, proposed solution, and path to commercialization. Drive incubation of emerging healthcare data, workflow, and AI-enabled decision-support products that may leverage hyperscalers, technology partners, intelligent agents, and reusable platform capabilities as delivery mechanisms.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with payer, provider, clinical, general managers, technical product management, and engineering stakeholders to align customer value propositions with the underlying data, models, workflows, delivery mechanisms, and compliance requirements.
• Product Roadmap Development: Support product roadmap development in collaboration with Technical Product Managers by documenting capabilities, dependencies and priorities.
• Strategic Partnerships: Support execution with technology partners (such as Databricks) and external partners to prototype, execute joint data strategies, and accelerate enterprise/build capabilities.
• Build vs Partner Evaluation: Collaborate with lead Strategic Product Managers such as Payer, Provider and Clinical to identify where software partnerships may advance path to market/differentiation. Support partner sourcing, capability evaluation, and business and technical due diligence.
• Discovery and Market Synthesis: Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to identify emerging opportunities and inform product and portfolio strategy.
• Data Acquisition & Ecosystem Sourcing: Support business value articulation, evaluation, and onboarding of external data assets and partnerships to enrich the core assets and expand addressable market use cases.
• Proof-of-Concept Design & Prototyping: Drive the execution and evaluation of technical and commercial proof-of-concepts (POCs) with partners to mitigate risk of new product initiatives before full-scale engineering investment.
• Product Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a product subject matter expert supporting internal training, client discussions, pre-sales and sales activities, and commercialization efforts as appropriate.
• Responsible Innovation: Coordinate cross-functional workstreams, manage dependencies, and ensure assigned initiatives meet data-governance, privacy, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, strategy consulting, commercialization, or a related discipline, preferably within enterprise software, healthcare data and analytics, or technology-enabled services. Experience with clinical and pharmacy data, data-as-a-service, APIs, interoperability, and FHIR is preferred.
• Proven ability to conduct market discovery, create business cases, define product packaging, monetization models, and go-to-market strategies for data assets, solving complex financial and clinical pain points.
• Strong understanding of product strategy, commercialization, platforms, product development lifecycles, and business planning.
• Track record collaborating with cloud providers such as Azure, Databricks, AWS and or GCP to execute joint technology strategies or co-innovation initiatives with strong hybrid business and tech skills to speak with both business and engineering audiences.
• Familiarity with AI/ML models, intelligent agents, and financial/clinical workflow automation including using AI tools to enhance day-to-day research, analysis, synthesis, and productivity
• Experience using SQL, BI, and analytics tools to conduct exploratory analysis, validate hypotheses, and support product strategy, commercialization, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Demonstrated success supporting external data partnerships, third-party vendor integrations, rapid POC commercialization, and translating multi-stakeholder mandates into scalable product capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with experience using frameworks to evaluate market opportunities and inform product strategy. Ability to present recommendations, business cases, product concepts, and complex information to clients, cross-functional teams, and MedInsight senior management.

Location:

This is a remote position. Candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US. The expected application deadline for this job is October 30, 2026.

Compensation:

The overall salary range for this role is $93,700 - $177,675. For candidates residing in:

• Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia, the salary range is $107,755 - $177,675.
• All other locations the salary range is $93,700 - $154,500

A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
