Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Weekend shifts variable based on unit needs. 72-hour orientation provided. Highlights: 36-bed oncology telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to progressive care level Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses High acuity PCU environment with patient ratios of 1:3 for PCU and 1:4-5 for med-surg telemetry Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds Oncology experience preferred but not required – nurses with ICU and PCU backgrounds excel in this role Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures Requirements: Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of progressive care unit (PCU) experience Current acute care experience required (must be working consistently within the last 12 months) Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license) Certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Previous travel nursing experience preferred Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity levels Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership) Required Skills: Dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring Accessing and managing ports Blood product administration Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs Management of cardiac drips (no titration) and PCA pumps Feeding tube care and management Heparin protocols Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac) Respiratory support: CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula Tracheostomy care and management ABG interpretation Rapid response team utilization Preferred Skills: Cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips Chemotherapy administration and monitoring Wound care and wound VAC management Arterial line management Surgical drain management Phlebotomy Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a specialized oncology progressive care environment where you'll provide high-acuity care to diverse patient populations.
