Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float Duration: 20-26 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with orthopedic and neurological stroke patients - Experience in cardiac telemetry - Strong time management skills Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float. The role requires the nurse to float across all acute care and telemetry units, including Behavioral Health and Respite. The nurse will be expected to work all scheduled shifts without accommodating requests outside of approved time off. Travelers can have one of the three major holidays off and must work two holidays. The patient ratios are approximately 1:4-5. First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position. Weekend coverage is required on an every other basis. The nurse must be flexible with scheduling and able to adapt to various unit needs. Floating between areas within a shift may be required, including a split between different specialty areas. The facility sees diverse patient populations, primarily adults, with a range of diagnoses. Experience with telemetry units and ACLS certification is essential for this role. Strong orthopedic and neurological skills are preferred due to the patient population. Daily tasks may include the management of peripheral nerve catheters, especially in orthopedic situations. Successful candidates will demonstrate thorough knowledge of telemetry protocols and patient care standards. This position requires a focus on patient safety and high-quality care delivery.
