Job Summary Geisinger offers per diem inpatient RN positions with leading pay rates and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. The role involves direct patient care, assessment, and coordination of nursing interventions in a clinical setting. Responsibilities Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Formulate, coordinate, and provide plan of care per unit standards, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning. Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure. Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise plan of care based on patient response. Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members; proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs. Problem solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in equipment handling. Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice. Act as a team member working toward unit goals and organization metrics. Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and activities to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety. Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Qualifications Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required).
