This role requires reading prints, knowing circuitry, working independently, and being knowledgeable about the National Electrical Code (NEC). It is a physically demanding position.ResponsibilitiesGeneral DutiesPerform commercial electrical duties independently.Read and interpret blueprints and follow job specifications.Install and maintain electrical equipment and systems.Conduct large cable pulls and motor control wiring.Apply NEC knowledge to all tasks.Handle trenching, exvacating, and underground conduit installation.Perform sawing, drilling, cutting, and grinding tasks.Receive and deliver materials to employees.Mentor less experienced team members.Keep job sites clean and safe daily.Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to established safety rules, policies, and manufacturer guidelines.Safety and ComplianceFollow all state, federal, and company safety standards, policies, and regulations.Maintain focus on the safety of yourself and others at all times.Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations.Training and DevelopmentActively engage in learning and developing your skills in the electrical trade.Seek professional development opportunities.Mentor and guide less experienced team members.Communication and ReportingCommunicate effectively with team members and supervisors.Report any issues or necessary corrections to HR or supervisors promptlyRequirementsCommunicate effectively.Understand and follow oral and written instructions.Perform duties requiring frequent medium-heavy physical effort.Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, and perform other physical tasks.Be motivated to learn and work hard.Work in a safe and efficient manner.Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to electrical work, including hand tools, large pipe bending equipment, wire pulling machines, and earth-moving equipment.Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).Familiarity with most aspects of electrical work, including underground, rough-in, trim-out, systems, and general construction.Understand and apply all instructions and safety guidelines.Ability to work in various weather conditions.Commitment to quality expectations, and safety and compliance regulationsPhysical RequirementsStand, walk, sit, drive, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, push, pull, and twist.Use your hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Have close vision and color vision; normal hearingEducation and Experience2-4+ years of electrical experience; preferably in commercial electrical work.High school diploma or equivalency preferred; required if enrolling in apprenticeshipWork EnvironmentThe role requires extended periods outdoors, often in direct sunlight and varying weather conditions.Regular exposure to hazardous electrical equipment and wiring.Supervision ExercisedNone.However, you are expected to mentor others with less knowledge and experience.Why Boys?Boys Electrical Contractors is a growing company with expanding opportunities across all departments.
