Cook Position

The purpose of the Cook position is to assist in food preparation, to provide clean and sanitary dish ware, utensils, pots and pans, and to clean and sanitize all assigned areas as scheduled. The position is responsible for preparing dinner meals, preparing lunch meals for the following day, and preparing Saturday and Sunday meals. The position could also assist with washing and storing dishes, as well as assisting with general cleaning and sanitation.

Qualifications (minimum requirements):

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current Driver's License
• Basic working knowledge and understanding of various kitchen equipment
• One years' experience in food preparation in healthcare kitchen setting or similar experience.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

• Two years' experience in food preparation in healthcare kitchen setting or similar experience
• Ability to follow recipes and written and oral instructions.
• Willingness to learn therapeutic diets and allergens.

Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
