HVAC Truck Based Serviceman (union)

Job Summary Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC Servicemen to join our growing business. The role involves commissioning, servicing and maintaining advanced commercial HVAC equipment, consulting with customers on comfort and building inefficiency issues, performing maintenance, repair and replacement of commercial heating and cooling systems, providing labor and material quotes, and participating in weekend, night, and holiday call‑out service on a rotating basis. Responsibilities Commission, service and maintain advanced commercial HVAC equipment. Consult with customers on comfort and building inefficiency issues. Assist Journeymen in repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw and scroll chillers. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. Identify enhancements to improve system reliability and sustainability. Provide labor and material quotes to support recommended solutions. Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call‑out service on a rotating basis. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of practical experience in residential, light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. Knowledge of maintenance and repair of three‑phase commercial HVAC equipment, RTU’s, heat pumps and fans. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification. Valid driver’s license. Good verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters. Pass a qualifying examination to demonstrate required skills and knowledge. Preferred Qualifications Five years of commercial and/or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry. Knowledge of maintenance and minor repair of pumps, VFD’s, air handling units and rooftop units. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $30.59 hourly rate, as determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
