Position Overview Supervised by the Assistant Principal of Student Services, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides services for students with speech, language, and hearing impairments, helping students access the general education curriculum. The SLP collaborates with teachers to support high-impact language intervention and evaluations. The SLP holds ASHA Certification and a New York State license for Speech-Language Pathology. This position requires a positive, flexible, solutions-oriented, organized, and innovative specialist. Core Competencies & Responsibilities Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy to students, implementing pull-out and push-in models based on IEPs and best practices Develop and implement engaging therapy activities and materials aligned with students\' goals Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for students with speech and language needs, enhancing access to general education and supporting progress toward individual goals Collaborate with teachers, learning specialists, and other service providers to integrate speech and language goals into the general curriculum Draft IEP reports for meetings and attend IEP meetings as needed Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff in assisting students with speech and language needs Maintain regular communication with families, informing them of progress and providing guidance for home support Conduct speech and language screenings for students as needed Support students of varying ages and linguistic backgrounds via a Response to Intervention (RTI) – tiered model Participate in MTSS and IEP meetings, provide guided reading instruction, and collaborate with contracted therapists Coach and provide consultation for fellow SLPs, including writing annual IEP reports and conducting interim assessments Provide consultation and professional development for general education teachers and administrators Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and therapy plans Report progress toward IEP goals three times per year (Goalbooks) Complete treatment notes and progress reports promptly according to school policy Manage a detailed log of services provided and missed due to student or therapist absences Document all aspects of work with students in SESIS IEP according to school and state guidelines Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence Current NY license as a Speech-Language Pathologist Two years of related experience, preferably with middle school-aged children Excellent time management, flexibility, and ability to work independently and problem-solve Effective communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team Commitment to meeting the needs of a diverse student population Benefits Comprehensive Professional Development: More than 225 hours annually, onboarding and targeted training Community and Culture: Joyful workplace with bonding events Flexible Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plans with network providers Competitive Compensation: Salary range $86,521 to $107,344, with pay based on knowledge, skills, and experience Retirement Plans: 403(b) and 401(k) with matching contributions Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off and a school calendar aligned to DOE standards Brilla Schools is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
