About the Role:

As a Warehouse Operator in the transportation and warehousing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods within the warehouse. Your primary objective will be to maintain accurate inventory levels and facilitate smooth logistics operations by handling materials safely and effectively. You will collaborate closely with logistics coordinators, drivers, and other warehouse staff to meet daily operational targets and deadlines. This role demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols to minimize errors and workplace incidents. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the overall supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Basic proficiency with warehouse management systems or inventory software.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts (certification preferred).
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift operator certification.
• Experience with computerized inventory control systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Previous experience in transportation or distribution centers.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Organize and store materials in designated locations to optimize warehouse space and accessibility.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and conduct regular stock counts.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks and coordinate with transportation personnel to facilitate timely dispatch.
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.

Skills:

The required skills such as operating warehouse equipment and using inventory management software are essential for daily tasks like moving goods and maintaining accurate stock records. Physical stamina and attention to detail ensure that materials are handled safely and orders are fulfilled correctly, minimizing errors and damage. Communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and reporting issues promptly to supervisors. Preferred skills like forklift certification and knowledge of safety regulations enhance operational efficiency and workplace safety. Additionally, organizational skills help in managing space effectively and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
