About the Position Mars Premier Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and other support needs in Linden, New Jersey. Rewarding work in the behavioral health and disability support field. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care as needed. Support individuals in developing independence and life skills. Assist with meal preparation, eating, and maintaining proper nutrition as appropriate. Encourage participation in recreational activities, social outings, and community integration. Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support. Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and other daily routines as required. Implement individual service plans and follow established support strategies. Promote safety, dignity, choice, and independence in all interactions. Observe and report changes in behavior, health, or overall well-being. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and daily activities. Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and other members of the care team as appropriate. Follow agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable health and safety procedures. Provide respectful, person-centered care that supports each individual's goals and preferences. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience as a DSP, caregiver, home health aide, or direct care worker is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, compassion, reliability, and a positive attitude. Ability to follow instructions and work independently when appropriate. Ability to complete required documentation and training. Must meet applicable background-check, training, and other agency requirements. Reliable transportation may be required depending on the individual's service needs and work location.
