Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel and PACU experience for a role circulating across multiple surgical specialties.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting within a hospital environment,
• Circulates for general surgery, orthopedic, OB, ENT, and podiatry cases,
• Rotating pain management and weekend call required,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM),

Job Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience preferred,
• PACU/recovery experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Skilled in circulating for gynecological, general, orthopedic, podiatry, and ENT procedures,
• Experience with blood/blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol, and wound management,
• Familiarity with cell saver equipment and emergency/fire safety protocols,
• Epic charting experience preferred,

Additional Information

• Responsible for circulating a wide range of surgical cases including gynecologic, orthopedic, podiatric, general, and ENT procedures,
• Must complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, typically averaging 4-6 hours for RNs,
• Not accepting candidates residing in specific nearby Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris),
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted,
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• No travel pairs or groups accepted,
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
