As a Cardiac Cath Registered Nurse you will work in a high‑acuity Cardiac Catheterization Lab that specializes in percutaneous interventional procedures of the heart. Procedures include angioplasty, stent placement, rotablators, peripheral studies and interventions, and structural heart repairs. The Lab also performs transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair, and left atrial appendage closures within a robust Structural Heart program. The team includes skilled special procedure technicians, registered nurses, and interventional cardiologists. The RN is integral to the team, responsible for circulating, monitoring, documenting the case, procedural sedation, and maintaining patient safety under the direction of the physician. Schedule: 40‑hour days with a call rotation. POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and the standards of professional nursing practice. The RN manages the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or others under their direction and applies specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan appropriate care for patients of all developmental ages. CORE FUNCTIONS Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs, reviews patient history and physical with patient/family, ensures completion within appropriate timeframe, reviews diagnostics and laboratory data, reports abnormal results, and completes assessment and reassessments as outlined in policy. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data, patient, family, and health team input. Initiates a plan based on patient‑specific needs, establishes realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with the patient/family, and considers cultural and psychosocial factors. Reviews and revises the plan as patient needs change. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders, nursing plan, and regulatory requirements, delegates appropriately, and supervises other licensed nurses and personnel. Promotes continuity of care through accurate communication to other caregivers. Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, revises the plan of care as needed, and evaluates progress toward goals and outcomes in collaboration with the team. Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely, and policy compliant, reflecting objective/subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient response. Notes physician orders accurately and promptly. Provides evidence‑based care and may participate in research activities. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors. Contributes to societal improvement through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes, such as participation in national quality indicators and professional organizations. In some roles, may supervise staff and workflow of the department. Interacts with all levels of staff across departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts (e.g., community providers and agencies). Works with clergy to provide spiritual support and synthesizes data from multiple sources to support patient and family response to health changes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area, demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, with experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area within the past 12 months. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or acute care setting. In a Home Health setting, team members must operate a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license; auto insurance coverage must be active and maintained. Employees working in non‑acute behavioral health or home‑care positions must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain the card for the duration of employment, and an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
