Position Overview

Core Scaffold Systems is seeking a motivated, organized, and hands-on Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our construction project management team throughout New York City.

\n

\n

This is a field-focused construction management position , ideal for someone with hands-on construction industry experience who enjoys working directly with field personnel, coordinating jobsite activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

\n

\n

The successful candidate must be comfortable spending a significant portion of their workday visiting active construction sites, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and traveling between multiple project locations throughout NYC.

\n

\n

Although some office work is required, this is not a primarily office-based position. Daily responsibilities and schedules will be determined by the Project Manager and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities \n

\n

Field Coordination & Site Management (Primary Focus)

\n

\n
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor ongoing scaffolding and construction activities.
\n
• Coordinate with field personnel, foremen, and Project Managers to support efficient project execution.
\n
• Monitor jobsite progress, identify potential delays or operational concerns, and communicate findings to the Project Manager.
\n
• Serve as a liaison between field operations and the office.
\n

Project Planning & Coordination

\n

\n
• Assist Project Managers in planning, organizing, and coordinating construction projects.
\n
• Support project scheduling, resource allocation, and daily operational activities.
\n
• Track project progress and communicate updates to internal teams and clients.
\n
• Help ensure projects are completed according to established timelines and quality expectations.
\n

\n

Documentation & Reporting

\n

\n
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, permits, and progress reports.
\n
• Prepare project updates, meeting notes, and other required documentation.
\n
• Assist with tracking project milestones and outstanding items.
\n

\n

\n

Safety & Quality Control

\n

\n
• Support compliance with applicable construction safety regulations and company safety procedures.
\n
• Monitor jobsite conditions and communicate safety or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
\n
• Assist in ensuring scaffold installations meet project specifications and applicable industry standards.
\n

Team Collaboration & Communication

\n

\n
• Work closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, engineering, design, and procurement teams.
\n
• Maintain effective communication between field personnel, office staff, and clients.
\n
• Assist with additional project-related responsibilities as assigned.
\n

\n

Required Qualifications \n

\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
\n
• Valid 40-Hour NYC Site Safety Training (SST) certification required.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and architectural plans required.
\n
• Willingness and ability to work in the field daily, including outdoors in varying weather conditions.
\n
• Ability to travel between multiple active construction sites throughout NYC.
\n
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
\n
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
\n
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications \n

\n

\n
• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar construction-related role.
\n
• Familiarity with scaffolding, sidewalk sheds, hoists, or other temporary construction structures.
\n
• Experience coordinating construction crews, schedules, and jobsite operations.
\n
• Knowledge of NYC construction practices and applicable safety requirements
