Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities Test boring / test pit observations Laboratory analysis Preparation of geotechnical reports and calculations Management of field staff Review of daily field reports Performance of on‑site construction materials testing services Requirements Must be local to the Northern New Jersey market and have deep local industry experience and relationships Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record Must meet pre‑employment requirements Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites Ability to lift and/or move up to 60‑80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc.) Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in the geotechnical engineering consulting industry Professional Engineering license in New Jersey Familiarity with New Jersey specific codes and requirements for geotechnical explorations Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., Gint, L‑Pile, MSEW, etc.) Strong oral and written communication skills Strong business development experience Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans/specifications Benefits Paid holidays Generous paid time off Medical (with Health Savings Account options) Dental Vision Long‑term and short‑term disability 401(k) plan with company match Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ownership upon eligibility) Employee assistance plan Company events Wellness program Employee self‑service site And more Hillis‑Carnes is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer.
