Software Engineer 3

The Software Engineer 3 is responsible for developing software solutions by analyzing information needs, collaborating with end users, and evaluating system workflows, data utilization, and operational processes. The role includes identifying and resolving problem areas, as well as preparing, designing, and implementing system specifications, technical standards, and programming components.

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) is seeking one (1) Software Engineer 3 for the HHSC IT Administrative Applications Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining RPA solutions.

The Software Engineer 3 will serve as a senior RPA developer and will be responsible for solution design, process automation, infrastructure support, collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement activities. Technologies used include Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Microsoft Azure.

Primary responsibilities include developing, testing, troubleshooting, and deploying bots that automate critical business processes. Hands-on experience with Blue Prism, Power Automate, and Azure is required. The candidate must also be capable of troubleshooting and validating responses and possess strong knowledge of DOM, protocol, JavaScript, and HTML. This position operates in a fast-paced Agile environment using Kanban and Scrum methodologies.

Years - Required/Preferred - Experience

8 - Required - Hands-on RPA development experience, including at least 4 years with Blue Prism

8 - Required - Web development experience (HTML, JavaScript, DOM, protocol)

8 - Required - Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases

8 - Required - Experience with RESTful web services

4 - Preferred - API development experience

4 - Preferred - Experience with process discovery, requirements gathering, and solution architecture

4 - Preferred - Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python

3 - Preferred - Experience with Azure infrastructure and troubleshooting

3 - Preferred - Experience working in an Agile environment

1 - Preferred - Power Automate development experience

1 - Preferred - Blue Prism Certification

1 - Preferred - Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification

1 - Preferred - Experience supporting Health and Human Services or OIG
