Job Description Job Description Position Overview Bunny Hill Builds is looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to be the driving force on our residential remodeling job sites. This role is built for someone who is equally comfortable swinging a hammer and directing a crew — someone who leads by example, takes ownership of the work from start to finish, and holds the standard high whether they’re hanging doors, running trim, installing cabinets, or coordinating subcontractors. Unlike a purely supervisory role, our Lead Carpenter is expected to be an active builder on site. You won’t just be directing the work — you’ll be doing it. This is the right role for a craftsperson who has grown into a natural leader and wants a position that respects both sets of skills. Key Responsibilities Hands-On Carpentry & Finish Work Perform skilled carpentry across a range of project types including framing, rough and finish carpentry, flooring installation, cabinetry, trim, and door hanging Execute finish work to a high standard — tight miters, level cabinets, properly hung doors, clean transitions between materials Maintain clean, precise, high-quality work that meets BHB’s standards on every project Step in and work alongside any trade when needed to keep the project moving Identify the most efficient and highest-quality approach for each scope of work Job Site Leadership Serve as the primary on-site presence and point of accountability for daily execution Direct and coordinate the daily workflow of crew members and subcontractors on site Set the pace, tone, and standard on every job — lead by example in both craftsmanship and attitude Conduct daily site walk-throughs to monitor progress, quality, and sequencing Open and close job sites, ensuring the site is safe, clean, and secured at end of each day Protect all work areas in occupied homes and ensure thorough daily cleanup Quality Control Inspect all work — your own and others’ — against plans, specifications, and BHB quality standards Identify deficiencies or deviations and correct them before the next phase begins Complete phase-transition checklists and communicate any issues to the Project Manager promptly Take organized, labeled site photos to document progress throughout the project Subcontractor & Crew Coordination Communicate daily priorities, sequencing, and access requirements to subs and crew members Ensure subcontractors have what they need to work efficiently — access, materials, and clear direction Flag quality issues or schedule conflicts to the Project Manager before they compound Maintain a professional, respectful working environment on site at all times Client & Homeowner Interaction Be courteous, professional, and respectful with homeowners on site at all times Communicate clearly and calmly in occupied-home remodeling environments Refer scope changes, budget questions, and design decisions directly to the Project Manager Materials & Site Logistics Receive and verify material deliveries against the project scope and purchase orders Stage and organize materials to keep the site efficient, clean, and clutter-free Flag shortages, damaged materials, or delivery issues to the Project Manager and purchasing team promptly Typical Project Types Our project mix spans a wide range of residential remodeling scopes, including: Primary and secondary bathroom remodels Full kitchen remodels and cabinet replacements Single Family New Construction Pop tops and Duplex Whole-home renovations and multi-room remodels Decks and pergolas Basements and additions Qualifications & Requirements Required 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience in residential remodeling (not just new construction) Demonstrated experience performing finish carpentry, trim, flooring, cabinetry, door hanging, and related trades at a high level Proven ability to lead, direct, and motivate a crew on an active job site Experience working in occupied homes with active homeowners on site Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and design plans Strong communication skills — with crew, subcontractors, and homeowners Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable in a field environment Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, messaging, and basic project apps Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to haul tools to site Preferred Experience working alongside architects, designers, or in a design-build environment Familiarity with BuilderTrend or similar project management platforms Experience coordinating permits and inspections OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain) Background spanning multiple trades — not just one specialty Company Description What We Offer Competitive hourly or salary compensation based on experience Paid time off and company holidays Work on beautiful, high-quality residential projects in the Denver/Lakewood area Company Description What We Offer\r\nCompetitive hourly or salary compensation based on experience\r\nPaid time off and company holidays\r\nWork on beautiful, high-quality residential projects in the Denver/Lakewood area
