Ready to take ownership of HR strategy and operations for a growing organization? Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead all aspects of HR, from payroll and benefits to compliance, recruitment, and employee relations. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be a trusted, hands-on leader who keeps the organization running smoothly and its workplace culture positive and compliant.

Compensation & Highlights:

• Pay: $40-$50 per hour, based on experience
• Location:  Providence, RI
• Contract

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager:

• Manage and process bi-weekly payroll and oversee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, while serving as the primary point of contact for employee questions on pay and benefits.
• Ensure organizational compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date HR policies, handbooks, and procedures, and supporting internal and external audits.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding, including developing job descriptions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing the exit process.
• Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on workplace issues, advising on performance improvement plans and leading the annual performance review process.
• Maintain accurate HR records and metrics, oversee workplace health and safety initiatives, and act as the point of contact for workers' compensation claims and investigations.

Qualifications of the Human Resources Manager:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience; HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws, payroll processes, and benefits administration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities independently.
