Porter - Perdiem

AFaith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1960. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. We are looking for a Porter - Perdiem (as needed) . $16 per hour. Porter Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year experience performing industrial or hotel cleaning or equivalent, preferably in a hospital or nursing home environment. Must be able to speak, read, write English. Porter Working Conditions Bending, standing, sitting, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must assist in the evacuation of residents. Subject to long periods of standing. Must be able to lift laundry, furniture, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty five (50) pounds. Subject to frequent interruptions. May be required to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays as necessary. May be subject to hostile and sometimes upset residents. Vacuum and shampoo carpets. Strip and refinish floor surfaces. Dispose of refuse and trash in accordance with established sanitation procedures. Clean floors and stairwells to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping. Wash windows. Set up for special events, moving furniture and fixtures. Clean wheelchairs. Transport linen from all floors to laundry facilities. Operate pressure cleaning equipment.
