Mechanical Repair Technician I This position involves the teardown, inspection, testing, and rebuild of regulators and aspirators, as well as hydrostatic testing of cylinders and charging reservoir assemblies with proper gasses. The role is safety‑sensitive and requires compliance with FAA regulations. Candidates must pass a drug and alcohol test per FAA and DOT requirements. Responsibilities Overhaul/repair regulators used on evacuation slides. Overhaul/repair aspirators used on evacuation slides. Conduct hydrostatic testing of cylinders (re‑qualification). Charge reservoir assemblies. Maintain knowledge of cylinder types and specifications. Complete required fits, clearances, and documentation. Qualifications – Must Have High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline. Qualifications – Prefer Ability to wear and utilize respiratory protection. Basic communication and computer skills. Precision in measurements and tolerance compliance. Proficiency reading manuals, procedures, diagrams, and blueprints. Teamwork ability. Completion of Valve Shop Certifications training. Strong attention to detail and organization. Experience with various cylinder types. Physical Requirements Approximately 95% of time standing. Ability to bend, stoop, and stand during inspections. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance. Exposure to vapors from solvents and adhesives. Must wear steel‑toed shoes and other required PPE. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
