Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift - 3x12.0 hours per week.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, focusing on patient safety and effective collaboration within the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to inform a personalized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing assessments, collaborating with patients and families.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education throughout care.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide relevant patient teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, effectively utilizing problem-solving and decision-making techniques.
• Maintain safety protocols in handling patients and environmental hazards.
• Contribute positively to unit dynamics, offering direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
• Engage in professional development to enhance nursing skills and competencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific facility requirement).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Active nursing license in the state of practice is desired.
• Recent ICU experience is highly desired.
