Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and function
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and modalities with patience and encouragement
• Monitor patient progress and report improvements or concerns to the supervising therapist
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Connecticut (or compact eligibility)
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations in a skilled nursing setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand, bend, and assist patients with mobility throughout the shift

Education

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, modalities, and rehabilitation techniques
• Proficient in documenting in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
