Electrical Superintendent - Construction

$63 - $70 per hour

Description Posting Title: Electrical Superintendent - Construction Location: Iowa | Arizona | California | Nevada | New Mexico | Ohio | Texas | Utah | Wisconsin Salary Range: $63.00/Hr. to $70.00/Hr. Compensation and benefits for this role are governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Additional hourly incentives may apply depending on the project. Candidates who are not currently members of the union will be required to join the IBEW upon hire. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

THE PRODUCTION TEAM

The Production Team is responsible for overseeing Cupertino Electric's Field workforce, ensuring that all projects are executed with the high standards of safety, productivity, scheduling, quality and cost control. Our team is dedicated to operational excellence, maintaining tight control over project execution from start to finish. We take pride in developing and deploying the best Field Managers in the industry, leaders who drive performance, uphold standards, and deliver successful project outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Site Superintendent is the on-site Field Leader responsible for overseeing Cupertino Electric Inc.'s (CEI) entire production scope of work on an assigned project. This role entails managing all IBEW personnel on site, ensuring labor productivity, cost control, and the health and safety of all CEI employees. The Site Superintendent may also manage non-union personnel in matrix roles, such as onsite Production support and administrative resources, facilitating seamless workforce integration to meet project objectives. A strong understanding of the project, including construction drawings, risk, and scope as outlined in the contract, is critical to create an effective execution plan. Leadership and Management : Oversee and direct Production personnel on site, ensuring efficient labor utilization and alignment with project schedules. Establish strong working relationships with the Local Union office to verify that all project scopes meet the standards set forth in union agreements. Ensure that all hiring, and termination compliance practices adhere to CEI and union guidelines. Guarantee accuracy in compensation for all field employees on site, confirming compliance with both the Local Union Agreement and CEI standards. Serve as the primary on-site CEI representative, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment. Direct and guide onsite support and administrative resources as assigned, maintaining clear roles and communication channels for all personnel. Productivity, Cost Control, and Planning : Oversee project scheduling ensuring schedule plan aligns with budget and estimate. Monitor progress and adjust as necessary. Monitor and manage labor productivity, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources. Implement cost control measures, keeping all work within project budgets. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the project scope, construction drawings, risks, and contractual requirements to create an effective, actionable plan. Navigate and resolve scope challenges with Trade Partners to maintain project flow and address any potential delays. Health and Safety : Enforce CEI's health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees. Oversee and enforce strict adherence to MOPs to minimize hazards and ensure safe project execution. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing incidents in compliance with CEI standards. Serve as an on-site leader for safety culture, promoting continuous improvement in safety practices. Project Coordination : Collaborate effectively with other trades and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and minimal delays. Actively manage and communicate the CEI project schedule to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and adherence to timelines. Address and resolve any on-site conflicts or issues that may impact the project's production scope. Quality and Compliance : Ensure all work is executed following CEI's established business processes and quality standards. Support compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements, working closely with the Quality team to address any deviations. Stakeholder Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site project updates, maintaining open communication with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and other relevant stakeholders. Provide regular progress updates, identify risks, and proactively suggest solutions to maintain project momentum.

ABOUT YOU

Knowledge of safety regulations and construction codes Displays strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills Strong leadership and team management skills Strong understanding of labor productivity metrics, cost control, health and safety protocols, and project planning. Ability to interpret construction drawings and navigate project risks and scope as outlined in contracts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all project stakeholders, including clients, other trades, and CEI leadership. Proficiency in project scheduling tools, with the ability to interpret and communicate project schedules effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing on-site challenges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Certified Electrician Licensure/Certifications: OSHA 30 Certification NFPA 70E - Workplace Safety State Certification as required Experience: 7+ years of experience in a field leadership role for a large-scale electrical contractor.
