It's more than a career, it's a calling MO-SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis Job Details Job Title: RN Clinical Coordinator – Surgical Services Location: SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake St. Louis Job Type: Regular Employee Schedule: Day Shift (8 or 10‑hour shifts) Shift Start: 6:00 AM (6:30 AM possible) On‑Call: Required weekday/weekend Coordinator on‑call rotation; Weekend Coordinator on‑call Job Summary Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting, supporting surgical services by coordinating staffing, workflow, patient flow and acting as a clinical resource for the perioperative team. Responsibilities Coaches in assigned area in a collaborative model of observation, demonstration, and reflection to promote quality support and service through training and in‑field mentoring. Facilitates professional collaborative groups locally and with communities of practice to build capacity. Provides direct on‑site observation, evaluation, consultation, document review, and participates in multidisciplinary assessments and quality assurance activities. Acts as liaison to the clinical education department, supporting skills competency and professional development. May perform scrub functions (selection and handling of instruments, preparing ORs and instruments) and circulating functions (monitoring, recording, communicating patient condition, and managing nursing care). Applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice based on patient‑specific needs. Demonstrates professional nursing standards as defined in the professional practice model and uses the ANA Code of Ethics for guidance. Maintains constant vigilance and safe practice. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications RN license required. Three years’ experience in surgical or perioperative nursing. Prior experience as educator or leadership/charge nurse is preferred. Experience in surgical services is a must. Education Graduate of an accredited nursing school or educational equivalency for licensing. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech, standing, walking, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects up to 25 lbs, frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, vision, smell, hearing, occasional lifting of patients and occasional driving. Frequent lifting of objects weighing 0‑25 lbs and occasional lifting 25‑50 lbs. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional driving and rare crawling and running. Required Professional Licenses and Certifications (by state) Illinois – Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Missouri – BLS HCP and Registered Nurse (RN) – Missouri Division of Professional Registration or Compact State RN. Oklahoma – BLS HCP and Compact State or Oklahoma Board of Nursing RN.
