Tactical Senior Acquisition Lead

Tactical Senior Acquisition Lead Position in KBR’s National Security Solutions team, focused on space communication systems for the U.S. Space Force. You will lead acquisition and systems engineering activities, including risk identification, documentation, and strategic communication. Key Responsibilities Provide expert advice to the Government Program Manager and Senior Space Force leadership regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and program execution. Offer expertise in acquisition within the Department of Defense for Major Defense Acquisition Programs (ACAT 1 and 2) and Middle Tier Acquisitions (MTA) for space vehicles and control systems. Develop and coordinate all documentation required to support Requests for Proposals (RFP), source selections, and milestone decisions, including Statements of Work (SOW), Compliance and Reference Lists (CRL), Data Rights, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), Clinger‑Cohen Act (CCA), and Acquisition Program Baseline (APB). Serve as team lead for acquisition and systems engineering professionals and support ongoing and emerging program acquisitions. Apply schedule management expertise to DoD programs and act as a strategic problem solver for the program office, refining acquisition strategies. Identify program execution issues and provide actionable recommendations to the Government Program Manager. Draft presentation materials, status briefings, and strategic communications; perform business case analysis and risk assessments. Lead development of solicitation planning and execution documents (RFPs, SOWs, CDRLs, incentive plans, etc.) and author technical evaluations for source selections. Work Environment Location: On‑site (California). Travel: Minimal. Working Hours: Standard. Qualifications Standard Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 12 years of acquisition experience. Demonstrated organizational capability with ability to handle competing priorities. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Desired Master’s degree. Understanding of ACAT I–III and MTA programs. Experience as an evaluator/advisor on at least one source selection. Experience with Confluence and JIRA. Certifications: DAWIA/APDP Program Management Level III, PMP, PgMP, INCOSE CSEP/ESEP. Experience with MILSATCOM systems such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, Protected Tactical SATCOM, and COMSATCOM. Experience working with military or DoD civilian clients. Compensation and Benefits Basic Compensation: $162,000 to $200,000 (California).
