Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

We are currently seeking a hands‑on, safety‑minded Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to run day‑to‑day operations of the on‑site WWTP at an industrial manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented operator who takes pride in ownership of a critical system and wants long‑term stability with a growing company. This position works 8 hours per day on a rotating schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off. $28-32 per hour, depending on experience Key Responsibilities Decanter / Centrifuge Operations Operate the centrifuge (decanter) system, including start‑up, shutdown, and basic valve adjustments Monitor centrifuge performance and discharge quality throughout operation Sludge Transfer Monitor sludge basin and tank levels throughout the shift Operate sludge pumps as needed to transfer material Manage solids disposal, including dumping solids and monitoring dumpster levels Operate a small telehandler (lull) to move product out of the warehouse, typically weekly Housekeeping, Maintenance & Communication Complete daily inspection sheets and maintain accurate operational records Maintain daily communication with facility staff regarding equipment status and issues Report abnormal conditions, equipment failures, or safety concerns immediately Follow all facility safety rules, PPE requirements, and permit‑to‑work procedures Ideal Candidate Profile Ability to work 8 hours per day on a rotating 7 day on / 7 day off schedule, which may include some holidays. Mechanically inclined with solid technical troubleshooting instincts around pumps, valves, and control systems Comfortable working from a control panel or computer interface to monitor and adjust equipment Basic math skills to accurately read and interpret levels, temperatures, and gauges Must hold a current telehandler (lull) specific powered industrial truck certification, or be able to obtain one Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Dependable, safety‑conscious, and comfortable working independently with minimal direct supervision Someone who embodies our Core Values and sets the standard for safety excellence we want to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
