Sr. Construction Project Manager

Contegra Construction is hiring an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large, complex commercial, industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and design-build construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction leader who excels at managing high-profile projects, mentoring project teams, and building long-term client relationships. As a Senior Project Manager, you'll oversee project financial performance, strategic planning, contract administration, risk management, and overall project execution while providing leadership to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field teams. What You'll Be Doing Leading multiple large and complex construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and warranty. Providing strategic leadership for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution. Overseeing project financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, billing, profitability, and risk management. Leading subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, and contract administration. Collaborating closely with Superintendents to ensure field operations align with project objectives, schedules, and quality standards. Building and maintaining strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and key project stakeholders. Leading executive-level client meetings while serving as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. Managing Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, pay applications, claims avoidance, and project documentation. Identifying project risks early and implementing proactive solutions to maintain project success. Supporting preconstruction efforts through conceptual budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and project planning. Mentoring Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other team members while fostering collaboration and professional development. Supporting business development efforts through client presentations, interviews, proposal reviews, and repeat client relationships. Driving continuous improvement by promoting best practices in project delivery, safety, quality, and operational excellence. Promoting company values, professionalism, and accountability across every project. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction. Demonstrated success leading large, complex commercial, industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or design-build construction projects. Experience managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously. Design-build experience preferred. Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, project financial management, and risk mitigation. Experience negotiating contracts, managing project profitability, and leading successful project outcomes. Proven leadership experience mentoring Project Managers, Project Engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams. Exceptional communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build lasting client relationships while developing new business opportunities. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and other construction management platforms. What To Expect Combination of office-based project management and regular visits to active construction sites. Leadership of multiple concurrent commercial construction projects and cross-functional project teams. Frequent interaction with executive leadership, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Travel to project sites and client meetings throughout the region.
