Construction Materials InspectorOxford Solutions is seeking a Construction Materials Inspector for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting active construction projects in Columbus, OH. This is an onsite, field-based position with frequent travel to project locations.Candidates may be based in the Columbus area or near Pittsburgh, PA, provided they are comfortable traveling regularly to Columbus. Future assignments are expected to include projects in the Pittsburgh region.The ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter with experience performing construction materials testing and documenting field conditions. Candidates with multiple industry certifications may be considered for the higher end of the compensation range.ResponsibilitiesPerform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, structural steel, and related construction materialsDocument field observations, test results, and project activityCommunicate inspection findings to project managers, contractors, and subcontractorsTransport material samples for laboratory testing and analysisPrepare field reports and technical documentationTravel to construction sites throughout the Columbus areaQualificationsPrevious construction inspection, materials testing, geotechnical, or environmental field experienceNuclear Density Gauge Operator certificationACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certificationStrong communication, organization, and report-writing skillsAbility to work independently and manage changing field prioritiesValid driver's license and willingness to travel regularlyPreferred Experience and Certifications5+ years of construction inspection or materials testing experienceMultiple ICC Special Inspector certifications are highly preferred
