Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Employment Type: Part-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00–8:00 p.m. — Second Shift

About the Role

Angels of Hope Home Care Agency LLC is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with disabilities in their homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living activities, encourage independence, and provide respectful, person-centered care. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule of 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and support according to each individual’s Individualized Support Plan (ISP).
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
Prepare meals according to dietary plans and assist with cleaning and laundry.
Encourage individual choice, independence, and participation in community activities.
Transport individuals to appointments and community activities according to their support plans.
Administer medications after completing required training and authorization, following agency procedures.
Monitor health and safety concerns and promptly report changes to appropriate staff.
Follow approved behavioral support plans and use positive support strategies.
Document services, observations, and progress accurately and on time.
Communicate professionally with supervisors, authorized family members, and care team members.
Maintain confidentiality and a clean, safe, and supportive environment.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to meet required background check and drug screening standards.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete accurate documentation.
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
Completion of required medication administration training; training can be provided.
Dependable attendance and availability for the posted schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), caregiver, or in a related human services role is preferred. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential is a plus but is not required. Applicants new to direct support are encouraged to apply.
