Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description

The role involves working as a Pharmacy Technician within the MedPharm team, focusing on Medicare and Medicaid patients, primarily Medicare. The position requires handling Prior Authorizations (PAs) through two main functions: intake and Tech Review.

• Manage the intake process of MedPharm prior authorizations by setting up PAs in the system and forwarding them to a review technician.
• Conduct Tech Reviews by receiving PA cases from the intake team, reviewing them for coverage, and making clinical determinations on medication approvals or denials.
• Read and interpret criteria, SOPs, insurance documents, and medical documents to determine patient eligibility.

• Pharmacy Technician certification
• Experience with managed care and claims
• Proficiency in data entry
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Strong computer skills
• Customer service skills, particularly over the phone
• Experience in handling Prior Authorizations

• Ability to handle customer calls effectively, manage conversations, and redirect when necessary
• Pharmacy experience

This position is 100% remote and requires working in a closed-door setting with limited distractions while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Strong WiFi is necessary to perform remote duties. The training schedule is Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM EST. After training, the work schedule is either Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM EST, with Sunday shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST, or Tuesday to Saturday with shifts from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM EST and Saturday shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST. Lunch breaks range from 30 minutes to one hour.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
