Molecular PCR Laboratory Technician

Job Overview Calling all Experienced Molecular PCR Technicians! As an IDEXX Molecular PCR Laboratory Technician, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. You will perform molecular laboratory testing that helps serve professionals in the biomedical and life science fields across the United States. In this role you will use laboratory diagnostic tools to conduct analyses aimed at helping specialists diagnose animal illnesses. Responsibilities Set up, run, and read laboratory molecular tests according to laboratory SOPs. Specialize in PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing, including sample homogenization and total nucleic acid extraction from a variety of sample types. Conduct molecular testing via real‑time PCR and other molecular diagnostic methods to detect the presence of pathogens. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment. Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely completion of tests. Qualifications 4‑year degree in a science‑related field (Molecular Biology BA or MA preferred). At least 1 year of experience performing PCR testing in a high‑volume, high‑throughput laboratory. Experience setting up, running, reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment. Strong analytical thinking, pipetting skills, and attention to detail. Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and ability to follow SOPs. Physical Requirements Standing and sitting for extended periods; phone and computer use; extended reach; lifting up to 50lb; specific vision ability (close, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment). Potential exposure to biohazards, zoonotic agents, and hazardous chemicals. Benefits Competitive hourly rates (starting at $22+/hour for entry‑level, $24+/hour for >1year experience).
