Data Engineer for Finance

Build and operate the data infrastructure that the CFO and Finance team rely on. You will join a small, fast-moving engineering team at a high-growth AI company, responsible for creating and maintaining robust pipelines, troubleshooting issues quickly, and enabling Finance to execute its roadmap.

• Design, build, and maintain PySpark-based data pipelines to ensure timely, accurate financial data flow.
• Write and optimize SQL to extract, join, and validate very large volumes of financial data.
• Collaborate closely with Finance stakeholders and engineering partners to turn ambiguous requests into reliable data infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve pipeline failures and data quality problems, owning data quality end to end.
• Operate with a hands-on mindset to fix what is broken and keep Finance deliverables on track.

• 2 to 4 years of experience working as a Data Engineer.
• Practical, hands-on experience with PySpark and large-scale distributed data processing.
• Strong SQL skills, you will be evaluated on SQL across two technical screens.
• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong written communication skills, able to work independently.
• Comfortable working onsite full-time in one of the listed office locations.
• Note: this is a hands-on data engineering role, not a BI, dashboarding, or reporting position, and it does not involve ML model training or research.

• Onsite locations: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA. Full-time onsite presence is required.
• Engagement length: 6-month contract, full-time, with the possibility to extend based on performance and business need.
• Employment arrangement: role is hired through Cincinnatus LLC, which acts as the employer of record and provides W-2 employment, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
• These roles are structured, role-based positions rather than project or freelance gigs, and typically involve close collaboration with the client team.

• Hourly rate: $60 to $85 per hour.
