Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, and continuously improving the Company's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across manufacturing operations, office environments, and construction/project sites. This position serves as the Company's primary safety resource and works independently to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA General Industry and Construction standards. The Safety Coordinator develops and delivers safety training, creates policies and procedures, conducts audits and inspections, investigates incidents, chairs the Company's Safety Committee, recommends corrective actions, and partners with leaders throughout the organization to foster a proactive safety culture. Environmental, Safety & Health 80% Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Company's environmental, health, and safety programs. Create and maintain company safety policies, procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Safe Work Practices (SWPs), and other EHS documentation. Develop, coordinate, and facilitate safety training programs for manufacturing employees, office personnel, and field employees, including new hire orientation, annual refresher training, toolbox talks, and task-specific training. Create training materials, presentations, and learning resources to support regulatory compliance and employee development. Conduct routine facility, jobsite, and equipment inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety standards, recommending and implementing corrective actions as needed. Lead or participate in accident, injury, near-miss, and property damage investigations and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Maintain all required safety records, training documentation, certifications, OSHA logs, and regulatory reporting. Coordinate contractor safety requirements and monitor safety performance on project sites as needed. Assist with workers' compensation claims by conducting investigations, maintaining documentation, and partnering with Human Resources on return-to-work activities. Coordinate required safety testing, inspections, and certifications, including fire extinguishers, AEDs, first aid supplies, fall protection equipment, forklifts, cranes, and other regulated equipment. Support emergency preparedness efforts by developing emergency action plans and coordinating drills. Monitor changes in applicable regulations and industry best practices and recommend updates to Company policies and programs. Coordinate and support the Company's ISO 45001 Safety Management System, including internal audits, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Promote a positive safety culture by partnering with managers and employees to identify risks, improve safe work practices, and encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives. Safety Committee Lead 10% Establish, coordinate, and lead the Company's Safety Committee, including scheduling meetings, developing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, assigning action items, and tracking completion of corrective actions. Partner with Safety Committee members and leadership to identify workplace hazards, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze safety trends, incident data, near misses, and employee feedback to develop proactive safety initiatives and committee objectives. Promote employee engagement by encouraging participation in safety observations, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement efforts through the Safety Committee. Travel 10% Travel to company facilities, customer locations, and project sites as needed to conduct inspections, audits, investigations, training, and other safety-related activities, including occasional overnight travel. Education and/or Experience: Required Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience. Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related environment. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, including 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction). Experience developing and delivering employee safety training programs. Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Experience performing workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Strong knowledge of hazard recognition, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance. Experience developing or maintaining written safety policies, procedures, and training documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Preferred Professional certification such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST). Experience supporting both manufacturing and construction environments. Experience administering or maintaining an ISO 45001 Safety Management System. OSHA 30-Hour General Industry and/or OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification. Experience serving as a safety committee chair or leading cross-functional safety initiatives. Experience with environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, stormwater, air quality, or other applicable environmental regulations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
