Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: State License required, compact accepted Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate required Must-Have: AWHONN Intermediate certification required. Experience in Labor and Delivery. Ability to manage high-risk obstetric patients. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The nurse will work a night shift, three times a week. The role involves attending to laboring women and performing various procedures necessary for their care. The nurse will be expected to assist in vaginal deliveries, manage labor, and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections. Experience with obstetrical triage and the use of internal monitors is essential. The unit handles a high volume of births each month, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Nurses must be comfortable with a range of procedures including, but not limited to, administration of medication, assistance with episiotomies, and postpartum care. Support for breastfeeding and education about newborn care will also be part of the responsibilities. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care for mothers and infants. Weekend availability is required based on unit needs. Candidates should be prepared to float as necessary and participate in on-call duties.
