Job Summary:
The CVOR CST is responsible for providing specialized cardiac surgical procedures support within a Level I Trauma Center. This role involves assisting with a variety of surgical services, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with certification and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist during cardiac, thoracic, vascular, surgical oncology, plastic, colorectal, robotics, pancreatic/biliary, endocrine, and bariatric procedures.

• Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are appropriately prepared and functioning.

• Adhere to safety standards, including certification and radiation badge requirements, to ensure a sterile and safe environment.

• Support the surgical team by scrubbing in on all services and managing intraoperative needs efficiently.

• Comply with shift schedules, on-call duties, and holiday coverage as assigned, including working 3×12-hour night shifts.

• Document all procedures accurately using EPIC charting system and assist with patient care workflow.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid SC or multi-state RN license in hand prior to start.

• Minimum of 2 years of CST experience supporting cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and other surgical services.

• Hold BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA.

• Certified Radiation Badge holder or able to obtain badge through agency prior to start.

• Demonstrate flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, with on-call responsibilities.

• Knowledge of EPIC charting and surgical protocols across multiple specialties.
