The Underground Electrical Excavation Lead – Mini Excavator Lead oversees commercial electrical excavation projects, guiding a small team of 2-5 members through site assessments, excavation planning, and equipment operation. This role demands strong leadership, adherence to safety standards, and effective communication to manage extended projects often requiring relocation. The lead ensures project documentation using standard office software while maintaining tool and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and identify hazards
• Operate mini excavators and related equipment safely
• Coordinate and lead a small team of 2-5 members effectively
• Ensure compliance with excavation safety standards and protocols
• Plan excavation activities for commercial electrical projects
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
• Document project progress and issues using standard office software
• Handle material logistics and site communication efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in electrical excavation
• Certification in construction safety or related fields
• OSHA safety certification
• Proficient mini excavator operator
• Knowledge of electrical systems and excavation safety standards
• Skilled in blueprint reading
• Strong team leadership and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and time management skills
