Job Title: Early Childhood Intervention Specialist
Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.85 per hour

Position Summary:
The duties listed below represent the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
Child & Family Support
- Provide direct support to children (ages 0–5) with developmental delays, disabilities, or behavioral concerns
- Support families in understanding developmental concerns and navigating referral and evaluation processes
- Collaborate with Family Advocates to support children who demonstrate challenging behaviors
- Provide individualized strategies for families to reinforce development at home
Screening, Monitoring & Documentation
- Monitor the timely completion of developmental screenings
- Track and document screening outcomes and ensure appropriate follow-up actions
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, referrals, and outcomes, including monthly reports
Intervention & Educational Support
- Support implementation of IFSPs and IEPs, including goals, accommodations, and services
- Provide training and support to teachers on inclusive practices and individualized plans
- Deliver classroom-based interventions (individual or small group)
- Participate in case conferences, consultations, and family meetings
Referral & Advocacy
- Assist with internal and external referrals for developmental and behavioral services
- Advocate for children and families with Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and community providers
- Support coordination of Mental Health Consultation services
Transition Planning
- Develop transition plans for children entering preschool or kindergarten
- Collaborate with families and receiving programs to ensure successful transitions Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, Family Advocates, and external partners
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in early intervention
Compliance & Program Standards
- Ensure compliance with:
- Bauer Family Resources policies
- State Licensing regulations
- Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS)
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass routine background checks.
Education/Certification/Licensure:
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Intervention, Special Education, or related field (required)
- Valid Driver's License, required
Experience Required :
- 2-3 years of experience working with young children (ages 0–5), focused on children with developmental delays, disabilities, or behavioral challenges, and previous related experience
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Knowledge of early childhood development and IFSP/IEP processes
- Experience working with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Experience in behavior support, de-escalation strategies, or ABA principles (e.g., CPI, RBT)
- Attention to detail
- Strong connection with the community and ability to relate to parents of all backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organization and time management
- Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements:
- To accomplish the essential functions of the position, one must be physically able to operate or work with computers,
- calculators, reference books, computer software applications, phones, and other standard office equipment. The physical
- Activities of the position include talking, reaching, grasping, light lifting, bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and other repetitive motions.
- Ability to actively engage with young children in classroom and community settings
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Working Conditions:
- Regular interaction with children, families, and staff in active settings
- Travel up to 25-50%
