Position Details:

·         Permanent, Full-time

·         Hourly

·         On-Site

·         Schedule: Monday to Friday

·         Hours of Work: 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina, USA

Summary:

We are looking for a responsible  Building Custodian  with experience maintaining clean, safe, and organized office, warehouse, and production environments. Skilled in custodial cleaning, groundskeeping, minor building maintenance, and supply management. Known for strong attention to detail,

The ideal candidate should be dependent, proactive, and has great physical endurance to cover a large space.  A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:

• Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout office, warehouse, production, and common areas.
• Inspect, maintain, and organize building interiors, exterior grounds, and storage areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and a professional appearance.
• Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation of building interiors, including floors, carpets, walls, windows, furniture, fixtures, washrooms, lunchrooms, and other shared spaces through routine cleaning, disinfecting, dusting, and housekeeping activities.
• Monitor, replenish, and maintain facility and restroom supplies, including cleaning products, soap, paper towels, sanitizers, and other consumables, ensuring workspaces remain fully stocked, organized, and ready for daily operations.
• Collect and dispose of waste, recycling, and debris and maintain waste collection areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized production floor, including areas surrounding machinery and equipment to support safety, operational efficiency, and housekeeping standards.
• Perform groundskeeping duties, including lawn care, watering plants, maintaining entrances, and seasonal snow and ice removal from sidewalks and parking areas.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning tools.
• Perform minor building maintenance and repairs, including replacing fixtures, addressing minor leaks, painting, replacing air filters, and supporting basic facility maintenance activities.
• Identify, report, and follow up on building deficiencies, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and major repair requirements.
• Support pest prevention and control activities and coordinate with approved service providers as required.
• Respond promptly to urgent cleaning, maintenance, and facility service requests.
• Assist with facility projects, furniture moves, room setups, and other operational support activities as required.
• Secure the facility after operating hours by locking doors, securing windows, and setting alarms as required.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, including hazard communication and applicable lockout/tagout procedures, and promptly report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Rotate between office, production, warehouse, and common areas to support daily operational requirements.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:

·         Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.

·         1 year of work experience in production, manufacturing establishment.

·         Work experience in a manufacturing environment and signage industry an asset.

Specific Competencies:

·         Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.

·         Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.

·         Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices.

·         Attention to detail and conscientiousness.

·         Very good physical condition and strength.

·         Work with minimal supervision.

·         Highly motivated and self-starter.

·         Ability to work as part of a team.

·         Able to lift 50 pounds and walk/stand most of the day.

·         Ability to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
