Join the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center's Pre-Op Team as a Patient Care Technician (CNA)

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to bring your clinical skills to a collaborative, high-performing Pre-Op team committed to delivering safe, exceptional patient care. In this role, you will provide hands-on patient care, obtain vital signs, assist with patient preparation, perform blood draws and IV placement, transport patients, and support a safe and efficient workflow throughout the department.

This role is ideal for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is passionate about providing safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care while supporting an efficient and positive Pre-Op experience.

Full-Time Day Shift: Monday - Friday | 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist nursing staff with direct patient care activities, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting daily living activities.
• Collaborate with nurses, clinical coordinators, and nurse managers to implement patient care plans and ensure continuity of care.
• Accurately document patient information and report any changes in patient condition to the appropriate nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Support clinical coordinators in coordinating patient care activities and managing workflow within the unit.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) required.
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required.
• Blood draw and peripheral IV placement experience, required.
• Bed cleaning and room turnover responsibilities, required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of previous patient care experience in a hospital, surgical, ambulatory, or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain and document vital signs, recognize changes in patient condition, and communicate findings appropriately, required.

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $18.37 - $29.90 per hour.
• Shift, Weekend, and Holiday Differential Pay Where Applicable.
