Job Description

Responsible for performing basic mechanical and electrical trouble-shooting, maintenance, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance activities related to facility equipment. Essential responsibilities for the position are the following:

• Repairs and maintains CNC machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment in accordance with diagrams, specifications and operator's manuals.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions of electrical systems, fuses, resistors, capacitors, spindle drives, servo drives, transistor modules, and diodes.
• Replaces boards, pumps, motors, switches, coils, pulsecodiners, ball screws, cables, gibs, mount guards and servo drives as needed or directed.
• Installs and maintains electrical wiring and equipment such as motors, drives, integrated circuits, and PLC's according to NEC codes.
• Dismantles devices and machines to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand tools, power tools, and cranes.
• Maintains personal safety equipment and promotes Alcoa Barberton Safety Regulations
• Completes required paperwork
• Performs other related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Wheels Plant Educational and / or Experience Preferred:
• Trade school training.
• Experience working with robots
• Knowledge of welding or welding experience
• Experience trouble-shooting and repairing CNC machinery to the board level (no board repairs).
• Familiarity with Fanuc, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as well as ball screw and bearings
