Job Summary The Bungalows at Chesterfield Village is seeking cooks to join their team! The cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director. The cook is responsible for all food preparation so that food meets and/or exceeds quality, quantity, and service schedule requirements and hospitality service standards for the community. The cook also effectively manages all food production in the absence of the Lead Cook or Food and Beverage Director, handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and federal, state, and local regulations. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals, adhering to posted menus and approved Phoenix standardized recipes. Follow production sheets, instructions, and special dietary or texture‑modified food requests. Organize work to meet production and service requirements, monitoring temperature, taste, and quality to ensure compliance with minimum guidelines. Maintain sanitary conditions, cleaning work areas, and operating dish machines or dishwashing equipment per Food Safety Standards. Adhere to local, state, and federal food‑handling policies and maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards. Record keeping and resident services: record and maintain equipment, refrigerator, freezer, cooking, holding, and cooling temperatures; record food production quantities and taste evaluation sheets; rotate menus and production sheets. Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information; review resident diet books, confidential diet board/indicator data cards or charts. Requirements – Education/Experience/Credentials High School Diploma or GED required. Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred. One (1) year job‑related experience including food preparation, full‑line menu items, and therapeutic diets. Current SERVSafe certificate or ability to participate in training to become certified.
