Affinity Health & Wellness is a small, boutique outpatient psychiatric practice overlooking the waterfront in the heart of picturesque Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Our team of PMHNPs is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to patients throughout Virginia via both in-person and telehealth services. Learn more about us at Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of two in-office days per week. We specialize in the assessment and treatment of low to moderate acuity conditions including: anxiety and depressive disorders, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and insomnia. (Please note that we do not treat severe mental illnesses, including psychotic disorders). The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management services. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing follow-up appointments - for low to moderate acuity conditions Diagnose and treat mental health conditions using evidence-based practices Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications Provide psychotherapy and supportive counseling within the scope of training and clinical expertise, integrating therapeutic interventions into comprehensive treatment plans as appropriate. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care Qualifications Required: Current certification and licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the Commonwealth of Virginia Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry (MSN or DNP) Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient engagement abilities Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment Preferred: Minimum of two years of PMHNP clinical experience Dual certification in Women's Health a plus!
