Data Scientist - Senior
vTech Solution
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads all advanced analytics and AI/ML work (PWS §4.3)
- Designs, deploys, and governs NLP, bibliometrics, network analysis
- Partners directly with ONR analysts to answer strategic S&T questions
- Oversees model lifecycle, validation, and deployment
- Someone who can turn messy S&T data into defensible insight
- Not a research scientist - a mission oriented applied analyst
- Someone who understands decision support, not just models
- Experience with S&T, R&D, or portfolio analytics
- Python/R heavy, production oriented
- Comfortable explaining results to non technical leaders
- Execution of a pre trained AI/ML or NLP model
- Model run against the ingested dataset
- Model outputs surfaced to users (topics, trends, entities, etc.)
- Applied analytics capability (not research theater)
- Integration of AI/ML into the platform
- Explainability at a practical level vTech Solution
